Len suggested the USSF courses and Wes has coached ever since. At DC United, an encounter with US Soccer Hall of Famer Len Oliver, changed soccer forever. Open Cup early rounds and the coed Indoor and Outdoor National Championships. Staying close to soccer, he continued to play at a semi-pro level for several teams in Northern Virginia and participated in the U.S. ![]() Wes graduated in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology, concentration in Sport Management and a minor in Coaching and Business.Īfter graduation, Wes accepted a front office job with Major League Soccer's D.C. Senior year brought a National Championship and victory in his final game as a JMU Duke. A little misfortune as a freshman, a broken zygomatic arch and appendicitis as a sophomore put a new perspective on soccer, Wes became a 4 year player and 3 year starter, Captain and President for the JMU Mens Club Team. JMU was ranked number 2 in the nation and without a roster spot, he turned his attention to club soccer. Wes attended James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Wes finished his senior year top 5 in points in Virginia and was the first player ever voted to represent the Piedmont District in the VHSCA High School All-Star game. As a senior, Wes was Piedmont District Player of the Year and received 1st team all-district, region and state team honors. While attending MHS, Wes received 1st team all district and region honors as a junior. While in Martinsville, Wes played for the PYSL Cougars and Roanoke Star Travel Teams. Wes grew up in Martinsville, VA and was a four year varsity player, 3 year starter and 2 year Captain. ![]()
